Open Three (O3) Consortium

The Open Three (O3) Consortium has been costituted in 2005 by the "Higher Education in Clinical Engineering (HECE)" of the University of Trieste, as an innovative open-source project dealing with the multi-centric integration of hospitals, RHIOs and citizen (care at home and on the move, and ambient assisted living),  based on the about 60 HECE bilateral cooperation Agreements with Hospitals, Medical Research Centres, Healthcare Enterprises, Industrial Enterprises and Governmental Agencies and on the International Networks ABIC-BME (Adriatic Balcanic Ionian Cooperation on Biomedical Engineering) and ALADIN (Alpe Adria Initiative Universities’ Network).

The goal of the Open Three (O3) Consortium is to promote an Integrated Healthcare Environment for archival, transmission, exchange, retrieval and visualization of data, signals, images and reports, in which the three dimensions of the Health Policies - Hospitals, Territory / RHIOs and Home Care / Ambient Assisting Living (AAL)) are linked together.
