O3 Enterprise



 

O3 Enterprise is a new University Spinoff company born under the umbrella of O3 Consortium. It was idealized by Prof. Inchingolo and his team during year 2007 and the idea was officially presented in September 2007. The O3 Enterprise associates come from O3 Consortium core team and they operate within both academic and business environment.

Since O3 Enterprise's goal is quite similar to the O3 Consortium one (promote new Open Source solution in healthcare filling the gap between the Patient and the Hospital), the connection to the University should be very strong. For this reason, we decided to move from the classical idea of a private company, held by physical people, to a universitarian spinoff company. The University of Trieste approved its participation in this new challenge and we became one of the University of Trieste Spinoffs.


During the last months of the 2007 we decided to apply at the local business Idea Competition, known as Start Cup 2007. After a head to head Business Plan Competition, O3 Enterprise won the first prize and the possibility to participate to the National Competition, known as Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione PNI. Unfortunately we did not pass the selection but the experience was great and during the fair we made a lot of networking, creating a strong interest on the initiative.

In January 2008 the idea of O3 Enterprise became reality and the company was born.
